In order to shoot the "Stream Machine", we answered a question about the Book of John. Correct - two shots. Incorrect or don't know - one shot! We appreciate those that "abided" by the rules for several reasons! One - God is glorified when we choose to act appropriately (glorify God in our bodies). Two - younger children are watching the older kids' choices, so be sure you are choosing Godly character choices. Three - The game lost its challenge if you did not follow the rules. (We'll be watching you carefully now looking to reward those who diligently seek Him!)
A spectacular turn out! The families of the Greater Phoenix Bible Bee continue to amaze us! Not only are you all committed to completing your studies, memorizing scripture, reciting to all of us and sticking around for lunch, you also are patient with activities geared toward ALL ages! We appreciate the time you take to include our youngest Bees and allowing the "more mature" to participate also! This meeting was a success because you all make it so! Thank you for demonstrating such Godly character and making this a special family time! After some simple worship, uplifting prayer and a little Discovery Journal review, we demonstrated a classic memory verse activity. We had volunteers come up and erase a word or two repeating the verse after each erasure. The goal was to memorize our focus verse John 15:4-5 (also one of our memory passages) together as a group. We did John 15:4 last week and John 15:5 this week. We hope everyone learned it, so keep reviewing it so you don't forget! Staying true to the GPBB tradition of novel review games (you know - it's hard to put study review/memory passage practice, all ages and fun together) we played "fill the bucket the quickest"! (We never came up with a name for this game so let us know if you think of one!) Thank you Mr. Ciampi for coming up with a great activity/game that encouraged our youngest to participate and feel successful and somewhat challenged everyone else! :) In order to shoot the "Stream Machine", we answered a question about the Book of John. (We'll be watching you carefully now looking to reward those who diligently seek Him!) After our fun activity, it was time to come in and cool off a little. (Phoenix is kind of hot this time of year! :0 You think?!) This was our time to practice reciting in front of an audience and EVERYONE who recited did an incredible job!! Those that recited (including moms and dads) spoke with conviction, passion and enthusiasm! Excellent job! Well done! (Can you tell we like praising (encouraging) our participants and families!) By the grace of God and His spirit within us, we can meet the challenge of conquering our fears of speaking in front of people especially so we can proclaim God's word! Why? So that we ourselves and others might be changed! Now, let the games begin! Stream Machine duels! Who can recite the fastest? Knowing your scriptures well pays off in more ways than one! This was a neat game because it allowed participants to recite in their own version! Everyone got in on the fun! Last but definitely not least - the fellowship and lunch! By the way, the "salad" theme was Mr. Ciampi's idea! Can't wait to see you all next time! June 25th 9:30 am. Ciampi Ranch. Please see the next post for details!
