The Greater Phoenix Bible Bee kick off event was a success! We were pleased to welcome some new families, reconnect with previous families and as always a joy to see our veteran Bible Bee families! Thank you everyone for your willing participation during all the activities as they had to be inside due to the heat advisory! We were amazed at the spirit of cooperation as we all prepared for lunch and all the offers to help. What a pleasure to fellowship with you all!
A full living room! A notable time was during the icebreaker activity when we got to see everyone's true colors! We just asked "would you rather" questions for the icebreaker. For example, "Would you rather have hair that goes past your feet or be bald?" The girls all said long hair and the guys all said bald! A great activity for loosening up the group! |
Thanks Miss L. for sharing your song sheet with Miss Ly., Miss R. and Miss E.! We sang Ancient Words (a song we learned about at Nationals last year), In Christ Alone (the Greater Phoenix Bible Bee theme song) and The Love of God (just a favorite and to remind us what our true treasure is!). Much thanks to Miss H. for playing the piano for us! |
To practice the memory technique of "chunking", we played "Hot Potato"! (Not a hot one though!) Kind of easy for the older participants but perfect for our Beginner Bees. It turned out better than we expected! Left Picture: Ciampi family with Mrs. L and Miss J. Right Picture: Mrs. T, Mr. N., Mr. K., and Miss A. |
We hope you will join us next time for even more fun! Be sure to check out the next post to find out what you need to do to be prepared for the next meeting!
