Let's begin!
By God's provision, the Greater Phoenix Bible Bee met for another Hive Meeting. Seeking God together with you this summer is a delight because you are choosing to follow Christ's example, to do as He has done and love one another. Thank you for taking the time and effort to join us and contributing to make the meetings a success! After worship and prayer, we began with a darkness vs. light demonstration.
1 John 4:1-11:
Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.
Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: And every spirit that confesses not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.
Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.
They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the world hears them.
We are of God: he that knows God hears us; he that is not of God hears not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.
Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loves is born of God, and knows God.
He that loves not knows not God; for God is love. In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.
Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.

Testimonies!
Thank you L. family for sharing with us your experience and journey with Bible Bee so far and your application of this year's John study to your lives! Your testimony was an encouragement to us all especially those with younger children participating. We are very glad you have joined us!
Mr. O. shared how Bible Bee has been hard in the past and how he really didn't like doing it. This year is different. He says he has a much better grasp of the scriptures, can memorize much more easily and therefore has a better attitude about studying this year. He actually really likes it now! (Editor's note: Mr. O.'s testimony is a great example of perseverance even when it is difficult. Way to go O! Praise the Lord for understanding!)
Shared insights and encouragement!
What a delight to hear from all ages the things the Lord is teaching these mighty men of God! Thank you Mr. C., Mr. N. and Mr. A. for encouraging us with your insights from the Word of God! Although not pictured, Miss J. (Beginner Bee) shared her treasure box with us! It is great to see how she is learning about God and the ways of God! Thank you for sharing Miss J.!
Writing questions!
One of the ways to gain more insight and understanding about a memory passage is to ask questions of the verse using the 5 Ws and an H questions. Each family was given a memory passage from this year's passages and asked to take time to ask questions of the verse. Asking questions really makes you stop and consider what the words of God mean. A logical step then is to meditate on the verse. The best practice to execute change! See the format that we used for asking questions below. Thank you families for coming up with some great questions!
Study a memory passage
Romans 8:35-39 (NKJV)
35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? 36 As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. 37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. 38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, 39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

What is the context of this passage?
What conclusions can we draw from this passage to apply to our lives?
Any cross references to this passage? Write them out and explain how they correspond.

Reciting scripture!
There is so much enthusiasm for reciting scripture now! Everyone even used the mircrophone! Good work everyone! Such outstanding demonstration of confidence and courage! Also not pictured (some pictures just don't turn out well) is Mr. I. who surprised us all with his recitation of John 13:1-38 (that's the whole chapter folks)! Well done!
Buzzer Rounds!
It was time to pull out the fun buzzers with different sounds! Played a very beginning mock version of NBBGS! We practiced with scoring but didn't keep tabs of the scores! We had two primary rounds, three junior rounds and two senior rounds. A good practice for dealing with distractions, nerves and familiarity with the study and Discovery Journal! Thanks for your cooperation, flexibility and patience as we work out the details of this game!
Fellowship
Nothing says thank you for a job well done like SNOWCONES! (They were healthy ones with apple juice, grape juice or lemonade as "flavorings".) It is the simple things in life! All the fun things that happen at Hive Meetings could not be possible without the work of Mr. S.! Many, many thanks for Mr. S. for grilling, cooking corn on the cob and producing and serving snowcones! Once again you braved the heat and we are extremely grateful for your service to all of us!
We hope you will join us next time! Be sure to check out the next post to find out what you need to do to be prepared for the next meeting! July 9th 9:30 am. Ciampi Ranch. Please see the next post for details!
